SOLVER emulates the PSTN Network and can be connected to an STP or an MSC in the mobile network. The interface used for the Polystar SOLVER ISUP load generator is Channelized E1/T1 over STM-1/OC3 (SDH).

The new SOLVER SDH hardware architecture provides a unique ability to test channelized STM-1/SDH and SONET circuits with a high degree of calls. Powerful resources for voice quality testing, such as PESQ, are available through a large, on-board memory capacity.

Any DS0 channel can be configured to carry signalling, simple payload or user-definable payload for PESQ testing. A large number of user-definable payload samples can be recorded, transmitted, received and stored on each STM-1.
Stored samples can be sent through a dedicated 1GB Ethernet interface to a separate server for PESQ analysis and scoring.

The architecture is built on a carrier-class CompactPCI form factor. It is a fully scalable solution from zero to full payload channel utilization.
