SOLVER for SIP

Solver SIP simulates a high number of user agents generating basic call, registrations, and SIP messages towards the Core Network. Apart from signalling load simulation, Solver SIP can also generate User Data traffic and perform PESQ measurements.

Solver SIP support the RFC3261 specification along with several extensions such as RFC3262 (Reliable responses) and 3265 (SUBSCRIBE/NOTIFY).

SIP

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), see RFC 3261, is a signalling protocol for creating, modifying, and terminating sessions between several participants. The sessions can be anything from simple voice calls to multimedia calls and conferences. Other application examples are instant messaging, presence, and online gaming.

SIP has been chosen as a 3GPP signalling protocol and is the base protocol used in IMS.

Solver SIP can generate massive SIP traffic towards different SIP Core Network entities. User data can be simulated and by measuring PESQ values, Media Gateways can be tested.

Solver for IP-based interfaces can also be delivered in a Lite version on a laptop. Solver Lite has exactly the same functionality and features as the full version, but in an efficient and practical portable format.

Main features

  • Generates and receives User Agents calls and emulates speech.
  • Provides fine-grain control over call setup rates and parameters.
  • Displays call activity and completion statistics such as setups, releases and active calls on-line.
  • Full statistics, in real time, of all SIP signaling messages sent and received from the Solver system. If user data is generated, statistics of RTP and RTCP is also available in real time.
  • Loads the SIP Core Network with thousands of simultaneous calls and signalling.
  • Performs PESQ to evaluate speech quality.
  • Emulated speech with codecs G.711 (alaw/ulaw), GSM-FR/GSM-EFR, AMR/AMR-WB (all rates and mode change/rate control), G.729AB, G.723.1A, iLBC and RFC3389 Comfort Noise.

Add-on applications

SIP-I

ISUP using SIP as bearer. Optional feature to Solver SIP.

PESQ

Verify speech quality by using PESQ measurements on several simultaneous calls, while at the same time generating heavy background traffic.
