GSM A INTERFACE

Solver emulates the Radio Access Network (RAN) and connects to the Core Network over the A-interface using a channelized E1/T1 over STM-1 (SDH) and over IP. The SDH interface gives Solver the possibility to have a large number of channels on one physical port.

The new Solver SDH hardware architecture provides a unique ability to test channelized STM-1/SDH and SONET circuits through a number of Solver applications. Powerful resources for voice quality testing, such as PESQ, are available through large on-board memory capacity.
Any DS0 channel can be configured to carry signaling, simple pay-load or user-definable payload for testing purposes.

One example where the user definable payload option is important, is when performing PESQ measurements. The voice samples used for PESQ need to be in a specific format for the PESQ algorithm to work correctly.
A large number user definable payload samples can be recorded, transmitted, received and stored on each STM-1. Stored samples can be sent through a dedicated 1GB Ethernet interface to a separate server for PESQ analysis and scoring.

Solver for IP-based interfaces can also be delivered in a Lite version on a laptop. Solver Lite has exactly the same functionality and features as the full version, but in an efficient and practical portable format.
