SMS
The SMS feature, once thought of as a small supplementary way of communication, has now become the first choice for many people. SMS has proven to be a very inexpensive way to communicate with other people.
The load and stress requirements of mobile networks for SMS sent in the network are different from normal voice traffic. This is because the full SMS transaction is handled by the signalling channels all the way to the SMSC. This can cause the signalling links to be congested and in a worst case scenario to break down or to react in a non specified way. This is forcing the vendors and operators to rethink the way they are testing the networks for performance and reliability.
Solver has an add-on application for the Iu-CS and A-interface load and stress tester that is capable to create SMS generation and termination with user-definable message content. In the Solver SMS Call Program Editor, users can define and control the SMS test session in the same way as normal Solver call procedures.
With the Solver SMS generator it is possible to:
- Generate mobile originated (MO) SMS traffic
- Generate and terminate SMS traffic (MO and MT)
You can easily edit the SMS content in a text editor.
