Mass Call

The Mass Call application enables real-time monitoring of calling or called numbers with large amounts of call attempts. The easy-to-use Graphical User Interface enables you to quickly detect alarms, or numbers approaching alarm level. You may set the threshold for what amount of call attempts should be considered a mass call, how often you wish to read the number of call attempts, and the alarm levels and buffer size you wish to have.

Easy-to-use GUI
The GUI (Graphical User Interface) allows you to easily detect any numbers with large amounts of call attempts. With the alarm settings, call attempts reaching a certain level will also be colour coded.

Server configuration
In the Server Configuration dialogue you have several different settings:

Mass Call Configuration

  • Count interval - For setting the time interval you wish to have between each reading. The main window displays the number of call attempts that have been made since the last reading.
  • Buffer size - Allows you to decide how many calling or called numbers you wish to monitor in the Main Window. The calling/called numbers are sorted ascending based on Call Attempts B by default. To sort on any of the other parameters, click on the column heading.
  • Min call attempts - This is the Mass Call Threshold. Calling or called numbers will not be displayed in the Main Window unless they reach the number of call attempts stated in the Min Call Attempts field.
  • Log alarms - For logging any numbers reaching alarm level in the Log Manager application.
  • Alarm on/off - States the number of call attempts required before a number appears in red or yellow.
  • Specific alarm levels - If the standard settings are not applicable for certain number, you may set specific alarm levels for specific A numbers/B numbers.

Key usage areas:

Customer care
Since B-/A-numbers with amounts of call attempts approaching alarm level are clearly highlighted, you may re-route traffic before the customers are affected, and/or detect subscribers with strange calling patterns.

Quality of service
Real-time monitoring of the number of call attempts enables you to quickly detect any circular calls that are creating loops, and disconnect them to prevent the switches from overloading.

Quality of service
Monitoring of calls to popular numbers, such as numbers to lottery shows, radio shows, etc, allows you to prevent congestion.
