Real Time Statistics

With the Real Time Statistics application you can set up and view diagrams, or statistical information in table format, over certain types of messages and/or transactions in your network in real-time. This allows you to immediately detect drops or peaks in the traffic, which need further attention.

Customise your filter settings
Different filter criteria can be set up for the different graphs, based on either protocol messages or calls/transactions. Several graphs can also be combined in the same diagram, where each graph has its own designated colour for easier identification.

When setting up the diagrams, you select if you wish the graph to be based on messages or transactions, and then you can apply different filter settings:

  • Traffic group filter – messages/transactions passing the links in the selected traffic group(s) will be counted
  • Protocol filter – messages/transactions for the selected protocol(s) will be counted
  • Link filter – messages/transactions for the selected link(s) will be counted
  • Parameter filters – messages/transactions matching the set parameter values (settings for wildcards, ranges, non-existent parameters, etc, can be used) will be counted

Set parameters

Import saved filters from other applications
You can also select to open filters that you have saved in the Protocol Analyser or Call Trace applications and re-use them in the Real Time Statistics application, which also means that all the parameters available for filtering in Protocol Analyser and Call Trace, are also available for filtering in Real Time Statistics.

Once the filters are set, and you select to view the diagram, the graphs will display the number of messages/transactions passing the filter settings in real-time. The graphs are updated with the time resolution of your choice.

Save filters
All the filter settings can also be saved and used at a later time, or shared with colleagues.

Key usage areas

Quality of Service
Graphs displaying amounts of specific transactions/protocol messages in real time enables you to quickly detect any unusual dips or peaks in the amounts, which may indicate problems in your network, allowing you to take immediate action.

Quality of Service
Saving snapshots of graphs when they are displaying usual, or unusual, curves allows you to compare graphs from different time periods and see if there are any common patterns, which in turn may indicate problems in your network.
