The main feature of OSIX Monitoring 3.6 is packet-based protocols—for both the circuit-switched (CS) and packet-switched (PS) domains.
For the CS domain, many improvements have been made for SIGTRAN, including:
- Full support for the M2PA protocol
- Better link filter for SIGTRAN-based protocols
- Additional searchable parameters in the SIGTRAN protocol suite
- Eight new SIGTRAN-based alarms for the Network Status application, which tell the network operator of any problems that occur in the SIGTRAN network

For the PS domain, the biggest improvements have been made for the GPRS/UMTS core network:
- Support for the GRE protocol (tunnelling protocol on the Gi interface)
- New and improved support for the following Gn/Gi protocols
- DNS - DHCP - RADIUS - DIAMETER - WSP/WTP
- Full support for GPRS Gb transferred over IP
