sGate SMS Message Gateway helps roamers feel at home in your network.
The Polystar OSIX SMS Welcome and Bon-Voyage application, sGate, helps you increase the visibility of your network to roamers, while simultaneously increasing the usage of value-added services without over-taxing the operational workload.

International roaming traffic is an important part of an operator’s revenue source. It is important to ensure that this segment is understood, efficiently managed and augmented. The prime function of sGate is to generate SMS greeting messages to inbound and outbound roamers. In addition to greeting messages sGate can also be used by carriers or service providers to inform inbound/outbound roamers about available local mobile services, or channel marketing messages.

sGate detects exactly when roamers enter your network and immediately sends them a greeting message. This can is achieved by using a probe based solution generating real time XDR’s from the signalling information. The sGate database can use and store thousands of unique SMS messages, and maintain information on thousands of roaming partners.

How sGate works in your system
Our xDR-generation capabilities ensure that xDR-driven sGate constantly reports all necessary information about subscribers and their behaviour. This means no delays of minutes or hours. You also receive xDRs for all call attempts – even busy or unanswered calls. These xDRs are sent to the sGate solution where they are processed and matched with information stored in a local database. The Location Update messages for the various subscribers are matched with the different Welcome messages for roamers and sent through the SMSC.

sGate sends near real-time SMSs in the following cases:

• Subscribers of the monitored network, roaming to a registered remote network from the monitored network
• Subscribers of the monitored network, roaming to a registered network, from another registered remote network
• Subscribers of a registered remote networks, roaming into a monitored network

A powerful statistical tool
sGate is not just simply a welcome and bon-voyage SMS service. The application also has a powerful database allowing advanced reporting:

• Number of inbound and outbound roamers
• Number of inbound and outbound roamers per operator
• Successfull SMS sent to the SMSC
• Time outbound/inbound roamers remain in the network. Statistics can be displayed on hourly, daily, weekly and monthly basis, allowing the user to get a complete understanding of traffic onto their network
